Writing is something that I find enjoyable, but it can also be anxiety-inducing when I put it off until the last minute. The longer I wait, the more daunting the task becomes. And when something becomes a chore, it loses its joy.
But perhaps it’s the strict daily routine of writing that leads to great works, rather than waiting for inspiration. Someone who waits for inspiration may never actually do the work, and without a routine, it’s easy to make excuses and miss out on opportunities. In fact, a little bit of anxiety may be necessary to push us to do our best work.
I’m proud of my gym routine as well. Today I had a BOXBOX class, and I could really feel my body improving. My endurance is much higher, my punches are more controlled and powerful, and I recover more quickly from maxing out. It’s amazing to see how quickly the body adapts. I can’t wait to see what I’ll be able to do in a year.
As for writing, I’ll have to work on establishing a more consistent routine in order to turn my inspiration into something truly great. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
