I did yoga today

Millions of people do yoga, right, it’s nothing special to fitness people, just one of the things you can do.

Well, as someone who weighed in at nearly 200kg not that long ago, yoga was not in the cards, as standing on knees (especially on one knee) or being bent over with a lot of weight on your wrists simply isn’t possible.

Something that is so easy and routine to so many is pretty much an extreme sport to someone of that weight group.

Well, today my scale showed 151kg and I decided that I’m going to try going to my first class (as opposed to usual gym routine) and the class I picked was yoga!

Yoga was awesome.

I honestly expected to not be able to do any of the exercises we needed to do today, but I’m proud to report that I was able to do most of them. Maybe not 100% perfectly or anything close to that, but I did them and I did them well enough to consider that with time, I can grow stronger, improve and get my technique in order.

The endorphins are still wearing off and I’m over the moon with excitement.

Going to try a different group exercise tomorrow, I don’t know if I’ll like it or if it will become a staple in my routine, but I know Yoga is definitely on my weekly exercise roster now.

With every 10kg I lose, I slowly and cautiously open up myself to new physical strain. Cycling at 160kg, I was waiting for 150kg to do yoga, running is off limits till 120kg. There’s such a huge world of exercises and things to do to experience, I’m using this as extra motivation for sticking to my diet and losing the weight.
