Project 50 #21/50

It’s been a month since me and a buddy of mine have started working out together on the weekends. He’s got many years of boxing practice behind him, however has stopped doing it pretty recently.

So naturally this was a great opportunity for him to restart and for me to learn a few things from him.

We initially considered renting school gyms or even working out outside, but ended up getting a membership to a gym chain and we now work out there.

What I really treasure about this experience is that it started with two people just wanting to do something and now it’s a pretty structured workout routine that we are perfecting.

If the first days were chaotic and mostly chatting, today was to the point with no more than a minute break between someone doing a working set.

I know people who wouldn’t dare doing something like this, they’d need to do research or find some guru to provide knowledge.

But I’m a big fan of doing failing, adjusting and doing again.

The “Everything is figureoutable” thing that’scirculating right now really stuck with me… it wasn’t new to me, just validation of one of my core personality pillars.

The world isn’t as complex as it’s often made out to be and the only thing standing between us doing something and not is us.

The boxing workout we’re doing now relies heavily on the use of an interval timer. A small, but an essential tool — it keeps you honest and doesn’t let you cheat/take it easy.

You have your time, it will run out soon, make it count.

I’ve heard of pomodoro usage in IT and development, but have never personally tried using it. Definitely want to try and see if it helps focus and productivity.
