One of the daily tasks I set for myself for this week was turning off the screen for one meal, not watching something while I’m eating.
Found it fascinating that having done that for the day and having received my fabulous green check mark for completing this daily task, next time I sat down to eat, I also instinctively chose to turn off my computer.
Not because I had to, but because I wanted to. I wanted to switch off the screen and be able to focus on my food and my thoughts.
Nothing really came out of that deep introspective lunch, but the very idea that I did this and had an extra moment to myself, in the quiet, not mindlessly consuming some youtube video or movie and stuffing food inside of myself without a second thought, that made me really happy.
I also noticed that I eat significantly less when I’m focused on my food. I like this, I want to continue eating this way more.
